Which tool to choose
Continuity depends on how the chat travels between your devices.
- If you use an AI with an account, log in with the same credentials on phone and computer: the chats are the same, saved on your profile, nothing to move.
- If you use an AI without an account or a system function tied to the single device, the history stays there: you need to copy it by hand into a place that both devices can see.
- If you're working on a long project, it's best to keep a status document outside the chat (in a cloud note or a shared file) with the state of play: that you open anywhere and it doesn't depend on the memory of a single app.
The status document is the solid choice: a conversation can disappear or fail to sync, your file can't.
How to do it
On the phone or the computer the move is the same: automatic continuity if there's an account, manual copy if there isn't.
- On the computer, open the AI app or site and log in with the same account as the phone. In the list of conversations look for the one open on the other device: if syncing is active, it's already there.
- Pick up writing from where you were. The thread of the discussion is intact because the AI sees the whole chat.
- If the app doesn't sync, on the first device select and copy the key point of the conversation, or ask the AI for a summary to take away. The operational syntax:

If the chats don't appear on the other device
Nine times out of ten you used a different account (or logged in as a guest on one side). Check the email you logged in with on both: it must be identical. If the app has several login methods, check that you didn't use a social login on one side and the email on the other.
If the AI "forgets" the context when you pick up again
Some apps sync the list of chats but not the entire working memory. In that case don't trust the title alone: open the chat and, if the AI seems lost, paste it the summary you saved. The status document exists precisely for this.
If you've lost an important conversation
Before giving it up for lost, look in the app for the chat-search function using a word you remember. If it's gone, reconstruct it from the summary or from the files you produced: this is why it's best to save the state outside the chat as you go, not just at the end.
