Which tool to choose

How to do it
Removal works in two steps: you point out what to remove, the AI rebuilds what's behind. The quality depends on how predictable the hidden background is.
Open the tool ("Remove object," "Object remover," "Erase"). From phone or computer the logic is identical: you upload the photo and select.
Point out the object. Pass your finger or the brush over the element to remove, including a small border around it. The more precisely you cover it, the better the AI understands what to eliminate.
Apply and check. The AI erases and fills. Look at the filled area: look for smudges, repeated textures, leftover shadows.
Retouch if needed. If the fill is imperfect, go over the same area again: each pass gives a different and often better result.

The background behind it was too complex to guess. Fix: go over the area several times; narrow the selection to the actual object without taking too much around it; if that's not enough, remove the object in several small passes instead of all at once.
If you remove a person but their shadow stays
The AI removes the object but not always the connected shadows. Fix: select and remove the shadow too in a second pass, treating it as an object of its own.
If the object to remove covers the main subject
When the unwanted element overlaps with what you want to keep, the reconstruction is uncertain. Fix: the tool can only guess what was behind; for believable results limit the removal to the parts that don't cover the subject, or accept a rough retouch.
A tip from someone who actually uses it
Work small. The temptation is to select the whole object in one go, but on complex backgrounds the AI gets it wrong. Removing in small pieces, checking each pass, gives much cleaner reconstructions. You have more control with ten small corrections than with one big one.

Can you tell the photo has been retouched?
With simple backgrounds (sky, wall, lawn) the retouch is nearly invisible. On backgrounds rich in detail or with precise geometries (tiles, windows) a keen eye may notice repetitions or imperfections. The more uniform the background behind the object, the cleaner the result.
Can I use it to remove a watermark from an image that isn't mine?
Technically the tool does it, but it's a bad idea: removing a watermark from a protected image doesn't give you the right to use it, and it often violates copyright. Use it on your own watermarks or on elements of your own photos, not to appropriate someone else's work.
Is removing an object the same as covering it with something else?
That's the confusion to clear up. Covering puts something on top; AI removal erases the object and reconstructs what was behind it, as if it had never been there. That's why the result is more believable than a digital patch: it doesn't hide the intruder, it makes it disappear by reconstructing the scene.
